Red Wattlebird

The wattlebirds seem happy about the eucalyptus in bloom right now; less so about the noisy miners who attack them at any opportunity. In turn, the wattlebirds then scare any Noisy Friarbirds from this same blossom.

The following two shots of acrobatic wattlebirds are taken from my front door, for those of you concerned I am spending a lot of time in bushes.

Wattlebirds are so named because of the red facial 'wattles', y'know, similar to turkeys.
