This blog is to share my photographs of, and enthusiasm for, the native birds living around and passing by the base of Mount Majura, Canberra, Australia. It was inspired by the swanlings at the bottom of my street. All photographs have been taken on local walks.

Kookaburra
Kookaburras are brilliant birds though I'm concerned they are not as common as they once were. I hope this is just my observation, rather than fact. In the second picture the kookaburra is photographed close to its nest, in the hollow of the gum tree.
megan this is the best blog I have ever read, seriously. hopefully we will talk about birds in at least one of my classes and I can show all the kids some great examples of australian birds!
